Harare Pétanque Tournament 2021

It was the restart of another interesting activity. The sun kiss of a Harare morning blended with the vibrant group gathered in the garden and pétanque court at the Alliance française de Harare, waiting for the ticking clock to get to 9am for the tournament to kickstart.

People were surprised when a team made up of Josh and Ben, whom had just learnt how to play the sport thrived to the semi-finals at an ease and eventually made it into the finals and came up second.

The Harare Pétanque club led by Kuda and Alain organised this tournament on Saturday 5 June with the sponsorship of fastjet in partnership with French Gourmet, Cafédeparis and Alliance Francaise de Harare.

What started as a relaxed round of sixteen ended up in a display of skill and talent resulting in a splendid final and a battle for third place.

The presence of the Ambassador of France in Zimbabwe Mr. Laurent CHEVALLIER graced the event as he presented the prizes to the winners.

Alain and Rosa who won the Tournament were generous to exchange the air flight voucher with Josh & Ben who were the runners up, for a purchase voucher from French Gourmet. Mathieu and Armel who took the third place received a breakfast voucher from Café de Paris.
